iNADO congratulates the Council of Europe on the 35th anniversary of the Anti-Doping Convention
On 4 September, during the 35th anniversary ceremony of the Council of Europe’s Anti-Doping Convention, Dr. Andrea Gotzmann, CEO of iNADO, delivered a speech highlighting the significance of this milestone. She began by congratulating all involved stakeholders, emphasizing that the Anti-Doping Convention remains a global leader in advancing anti-doping efforts. Dr. Gotzmann reflected on her own experiences as a member of the German delegation from 2011 to 2022, and expressed her pleasure in returning as an iNADO observer.
In her remarks, Dr. Gotzmann also praised the city of Strasbourg and the symbolic importance of the Council of Europe buildings, particularly their representation of core European values—Human Rights, Rule of Law, Democracy, and Freedom of Speech—which she noted as foundational to the ongoing work of the Anti-Doping convention.
As a former chair of the Advisory Group on Science of T-DO, she lauded the contributions of European scientific experts to the World Anti-Doping Agency’s (WADA) Prohibited List and International Standards, acknowledging the valuable support of the Secretariat for their organizational excellence. In closing, Dr. Gotzmann wished continued success for the Anti-Doping Convention, in service of clean athletes and fair sports.
