iNADO and WAADS Collaborate to Strengthen Anti-Doping Efforts
Bonn, August 2024 — Institute of National Anti-Doping Organisations (iNADO) and World Association of Anti Doping Scientists (WAADS), representing key stakeholders in the anti-doping community, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance their collaborative efforts in protecting clean athletes and promoting doping-free and fair sport worldwide. iNADO supports 59 National Anti-Doping Organizations (NADOs) and 8 Regional Anti-Doping Organizations (RADOs) globally, while WAADS encompasses 30 WADA-accredited laboratories.
"The signing of this MoU between WAADS and iNADO marks a significant step forward in our shared mission to protect the integrity of sport. By fostering a closer collaboration between National Anti-Doping Organizations and WADA-accredited laboratories, we can better align our efforts, address common challenges, and ensure that clean athletes are supported by the most effective and unified anti-doping framework possible." Dr. Andrea Gotzmann
This partnership aims to facilitate mutual understanding of the tasks, duties, and practical implementation of WADA regulations from both the NADO and laboratory perspectives. The collaboration will involve regular exchanges and webinars at all technical levels, providing a platform for discussing current and fundamental issues.
"On behalf of WAADS, I would like to express my satisfaction in formalizing this collaboration with INADO. It is through partnerships like this that the harmonious evolution of anti-doping systems around the world will be ensured. The Anti-Doping Laboratory community is eager to further strengthen ties, aiming for a doping-free sport." Prof. Dr. Henrique Marcelo Gualberto Pereira
The primary goals of the MoU include identifying common interests, proposing solutions to open questions, offering expert support, and preparing proposals for optimizing the regulatory framework. This joint effort underscores the commitment of iNADO and WAADS to enhance the effectiveness of anti-doping measures and ensure the integrity of sport worldwide.
